Flare: America’s Most Beautiful Magazine

Displaying Flair magazine issues alongside garments and accessories from the 1950s archive of Columbia College Chicago’s Fashion Study Collection (FSC), this retrospective exhibition presented a comprehensive history of Flair Magazine.

Though only produced for a year, Flair was regarded as a boundary-defying artistic take on the print magazine format. The 12 issues included 3D cut-outs, writing from infamous figures like Tennessee Williams and Simone de Beauvoir and groundbreaking work from Man Ray, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí, among others.
